The much anticipated Art Week is finally happening in Miami Beach, Florida.  Swanky dinners, sponsored parties, incredible art installations, musical performances, pop-ups--there's an overwhelming amount of events to make your trip worthwhile.  For these few days, art takes over the city and the population increases by thousands.  Here at AGAIN, we are constantly inspired by the works of talented individuals.  Whether it be music, art, photography--there is never a day we are not learning from others.  We put together some of the events we would love to go to around the city of Miami this week.

1) Art Basel - Miami Beach Convention Center
Art Basel is the most hyped event of the week.  A day pass is $47 and an all week pass is $100.  If you have travelled all that way, the week pass is worth it.  That way you can go in and out of the convention center and see what's new every day, but you can still come and go as you please to see what other fun stuff is happening around the city.
Don't miss one of AGAIN designer Amber's favorite artists' presentations, Friends With You.  They're debuting their work Light Spirit, which is described as "a fully immersive, interactive stimulation.  The experience presents a completely unique encounter . . . that feels quite real to one's senses." It sounds like something you have to be there to understand!
Another artist to watch is Christina Lei Rodriguez. Her work, often inspired by fashion design, includes sculptures and 3D aspects with jewel tone hues and deep gold metallics. This Latin American artist is definitely a must-see.

2) Petra Collins - The Standard Miami
One of Amber's most favorite and inspiring photographers, Petra Collins, is showing her installation "Fuck Boi Funeral" Wednesday night at the Standard Hotel. Featuring girls in the raw, Petra creates a space where girls feel comfortable.  She tells i-D, "It will feel like the moment after a selfie . . . When you pull away from your phone or computer and examine yourself."

2) Curve - 2000 Collins Avenue
First things first--stand out from the crowd with a new outfit from one of our favorite shops, Curve! Anything off the racks here will have you chic in no time.

4) Style Mafia x Oxydo's Basel Lab - 2324 NW 5th Avenue
Fashion and art are merged in this unique interactive experience designed by Oxydo and Style Mafia. They created printed pods where the design will match the clothing and eyewear worn by guests to create a camouflage effect.

5) Spencer Finch's Artistic Ice Cream Truck - Hyde Midtown Sales Center
Have your art and eat it, too!  American artist Spencer Finch takes his artistic ice cream truck to Art Basel for the first time. After painting a watercolor of the sunset over Central Park, Finch meticulously extracts its hues to color cones of soft-serve ice cream dubbed "edible monochromes."

6) The Miami Street Photography Festival - HistoryMiami Museum, 101 W Flagler Street
What's art without photography? A festival dedicated to the camera lens, her you will find the works of Peter Turnley, David Alan Harvey, Maggie Steber, and The Street Art Collective.  We're always inspired by photography--something about capturing the perfect emotion and light in a still image is mesmerizing.

7) White Girl Rosé & NYLON Party - 1111 Collins Avenue
THURSDAY - Don't worry, we didn't forget about the nightlife. Hosted by The Fat Jew, White Girl Rosé and NYLON will kick off Art Basel with the F*CK Winter Party. Guests will enjoy breakfast for dinner bites, snap away in the NYX photo booth, and sip on bubblies from Perrier.

8) The Standard Miami Beach - 40 Island Ave
Need a place to stay? The Standard is Amber's all time favorite hotel in Miami.  The spa includes a unisex hammam and lots of outdoor amenities including bathtubs and mudbaths.  You feel like you're in Budapest!
